With its pristine beaches, rich culture and variety of attractions, Paros is a wanderluster’s dream come true. The island is steeped in culture and history, from its many churches to its ancient monuments and ruins. Many of the island’s most impressive archeological finds are housed in the Paros Archaeological Museum in Parikia. With beautiful narrow streets and charming examples of classic Cycladic architecture, the picturesque traditional village of Lefkes is located in the centre of the island. The hills around the village are dotted with windmills, many of which have been restored, while at the edge of the village, on a hill one may find the church of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity). There are plenty of routes for hiking enthusiasts here – with a walk to the Monastery of Agios Georgios, and a 5km ancient Byzantine marble pathway connecting Lefkes with the village of Podromos.
